Medici Food & Wine Walk

Since 2010, as part of "Poggio in Vetrina", Poggio a Caiano has hosted the "Passeggiata Enogastronomica Medicea" (Medici Food & Wine Walk), a moving dinner through the historic centre of Poggio a Caiano where, against the town's most beautiful backdrops, you can sample specialities served by the area's best restaurants.
The event has always had a charitable purpose: the entire proceeds go every year to a local family or individual in difficulty.

The 2017 edition of the Medici Food & Wine Walk is scheduled for Thursday 20 July, starting at 8 pm. The route begins in front of the entrance to the Medici Villa.
11 restaurants and businesses are taking part, together with the Consorzio di Tutela dei Vini di Carmignano and AIS Toscana.

The cost of the "Passeggiata Enogastronomica Medicea" is €15 per person and booking is required. Tickets are available at the Pro Loco of Poggio a Caiano, in Via Giuliano da Sangallo 3 (open every day from 10.30 am to 5.30 pm), or at the participating restaurants. In case of rain the evening will be moved to Friday 21 July.
